HUMAN
CONNECTION
IS THE HEART
OF EVERY STORY.

We work with producers, studios, distributors, and festivals to bring stories to audiences — from early development through release and awards consideration.

Every production has a distinct identity. Our role is to understand that identity and communicate it effectively — to press, to audiences, to the industry. We don't apply a template. We build a strategy around the story and the people telling it.

AN EXTENSION
OF YOUR TEAM.
NOT A VENDOR.

From on-the-ground production logistics to high-profile red carpets, we embed into your production and distribution operation — learning the project, the priorities, and the politics before we develop any public-facing strategy.

We have worked across both sides of the Atlantic — at major studios including Disney, 20th Century Fox, Universal and Warner Bros, and with independent producers at Cannes, Berlin, the Toronto International Film Festival, and the BFI London Film Festival.

That breadth of experience means we understand what large studio infrastructure looks like from the inside, and what independent productions need to punch above their weight.

Common Questions

FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS

What film and production services does Simplicity Media offer in Atlantic Canada?
We offer a full range of film and production support services from our Nova Scotia base: film publicity and press strategy, awards campaign management, red carpet and premiere events, festival strategy and submissions, distribution support, and production logistics. The founding team's 12+ years directing global publicity at Universal Pictures and Warner Bros gives us genuine depth that generalist agencies can't replicate.
Can Simplicity Media support international productions filming in Nova Scotia?
Yes. Nova Scotia's film and television production sector attracts significant international productions, and we work as an extension of production and distribution teams — handling local publicity, press relationships, stakeholder communications and logistics. Our London and Toronto offices provide additional support for productions with UK and North American distribution, and our entertainment PR background means we understand how major studio and independent production campaigns are built from the ground up.
What experience does Simplicity Media have in entertainment publicity?
The Simplicity film team's background includes 12+ years directing global publicity at Universal Pictures — managing press campaigns, talent relations and brand narrative for major studio releases across international markets. Prior to that, roles at Warner Bros Entertainment and Premier PR built the editorial relationships and entertainment industry knowledge that underpin our film services offer. This is a genuine specialism, not a claimed one.
Does Simplicity Media work with independent productions and smaller distributors?
Yes — and this is where our model works particularly well. Major studios have in-house publicity teams; independent productions and smaller distributors often don't. We provide senior-level entertainment PR expertise without the overhead of a full-time hire, working on project or campaign terms rather than ongoing retainers. Whether you're managing an Atlantic Canadian feature, a documentary, or a limited series with international distribution, we can build and execute the publicity strategy around it.
Can the film services team support awards campaigns?
Yes. Awards campaigns — whether targeting Canadian Screen Awards, TIFF recognition, or international festival circuit positioning — require a specific combination of editorial relationships, timing strategy, and narrative management. Our background directing awards-season campaigns at Universal Pictures means we understand how to build the critical momentum that awards campaigns depend on, and how to sequence coverage and screener outreach for maximum effect.
